Dramatic Poetry: Love Ends With Hope

His and her toothbrushes
Source: http://newleafnaturalhome.com
A new extra firm pillow never used,
the three liter of Dr. Chill
waiting to be opened;
bought for you and you alone,
but you are not here.
Your shoes no longer sit by my door;
Your tea pot does not occupy my stove.
You took everything that was used
except for your toothbrush.
It still stands next to mine
keeping it company.
Why not just throw it away
while you were clearing things out?
Why leave it for me to see
and remember you, every night
you are not here with me?
I got a bag of mixed jelly beans
taped to my door the other day.
I took it inside
thinking you would love them
when you come back
for your toothbrush.

I just noticed you only joined 4 days ago, so welcome to HP.
I hope you are getting over him now. :)
Thanks for the nice and interesting post..Great read
Glad you moved on! He wasn't worth it.
Great poetry.
So much talent in one so young. It's going to be enjoyable following your progress and watching you grow.

Lovely poem but very sad. I would have thrown the toothbrush out.
